About 250 MT relief materials for Rohingya refugees from Malaysia, Morocco, India, Indonesia and Iran already reached Chittagong while more relief likely to reach by this week.
According to sources, Bangladesh Air Force, Bangladesh Army and Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport Authority and Civil Aviation and Chittagong District Administration are jointly coordinating the relief activities in Chittagong.
The government officials are doing extra duties for unloading and carrying of the relief materials for Rohingya people. According to Squadron Leader Reazul Kabir, Airport Manager of Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport, a total of 244.96 MT relief materials reached at Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport from September 9 to till Tuesday morning.
He further said, a total of 13 planes from Malaysia, Morocco, India, Indonesia and Iran loaded with relief material landed at Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport so far.
He also said Bangladesh Army is working for transportation of the relief and security. Chittagong District Administration is conducting the administrative procedures regarding the relief. Chittagong District Administration is also conducting the trucks under the supervision of Bangladesh Army. Bangladesh Army is providing security on the way to Cox’s Bazar. Another plane from Indonesia will reach Wednesday or Thursday, Reajul Kabir informed this correspondent.
On behalf of the Chittagong District Administration, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Habibur Rahman received the relief materials from Indonesian delegation, district administration sources said. With this the Indonesian government sent 77 tons relief materials through eight cargo flights.
