Chittagong Abahani maintained the 2nd slot in the points table of the 12-team JB Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football beating Team BJMC by 3-0 goals in the 20th round match at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday. Bhutanese forward Chencho Gyeltshen scored two goals while Ibrahim added one for the winners.
The sky blues from the port city took the lead in the very 4th minute with Chencho’s tricky placing shot off a cut back of winger Rubel Miah that gave BJMC goalkeeper Himel no chance to react, 1-0. Chencho doubled the margin in the last minute of the first half tapping the ball into the net after receiving a low cross from forward Ibrahim, 2-0.
Ibrahim scored the 3rd one in the 66th minute by a header was a rebounder from goalie Himel who denied Chenco’s hat-trick attempt, but on-rushing Ibrahim took the opportunity to fire the net, 3-0. With this win, Ctg Abahani collected 43 points from 20 matches, having 13 wins four draws and three loses. BJMC remained on their previous collection of 21 points from the same number of matches with four wins, nine draws seven loses to stay in the 9th slot.
