Eastern University Computing Club (EUCC) arranged an annual mega event “CSE Fest 2017” on Sunday. The event was inaugurated by Prof Dr Md. Nurul Islam, Vice-Chancellor (Acting) of Eastern University (EU).
Prof Dr Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology; Dewan Amana Sultana, Controller of Examinations; Mohammad Imtiaj, Director of Public Relations Office and Faculties of E&T were present at that time.
The “30th Intra-University Programming Contest” was also a part of the event. Besides, the programming contest, the daylong event also included various fun games and contest such as Idea Contest, where students presented many innovative ideas that can help people and change society for the better. Project Showcasing, where students showed off many exciting technological things and how they can implement their ideas. Robot football was a fun and exciting part of the event where players assumed control of a robot and played football. There was also an arrangement for Chess, Table Tennis, Carom, Ludo, Quiz Competition, Typing Contest etc. A cultural event was part of the festivities where students performed songs and dance.
Aside from the day of fun-filled games, contest, singing and dancing the objective of this mega event was to engage all the students. To introduce and enhance the interests of the students in problem-solving, gaming, robotics and many more projects. And considering the enthusiastic participation of everyone, it was a success.
After the festivities, there was “Digital World 2017 Activation Seminar” and the Award Giving Ceremony. Dr M. Kaykobad, Professor, Department of CSE, BUET was present as the chief guest of the ceremony. Prof Dr Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Eastern University presided over the ceremony while Prof Dr Md. Nurul Islam, Vice-Chancellor (Acting) of Eastern University was present as guest of honor and Muhammed Siddique Hossain, Treasurer and Abul Basher Khan were present as the special guests. The guests presented the winners and participators of the many contest and games with their prize.
The event ended with some inspiring words from the guests to the students and faculty members present.
