Capital’s Gulshan Zonal Team Inspector Kazi Wazed Ali recently submitted a charge sheet against 10 accused people including Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Later, the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka sent the charge sheet to the Anti-Terrorism Tribunal of Dhaka for next necessary action.
“The tribunal has set July 21 for holding cognizance about the charge-sheet”,
Sub-Inspector Ranap Kumar of the court General Registration wing told the media.
The other accused in the case are- Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer ANM Mohammad Shamsul Islam, Assistant Secretary Generals AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad and Md Rafiqul Islam Khan, Central Executive Council Members Md Abdur Rob, Md Ijjat Ullah and Md Mobarak Hossain, Executive Council Member Md Yasin Arafat, Rafiqul Islam Khan’s driver Md Monirul Islam and party activist Md Abul Kalam Azad.
Police on September 6, 2021, arrested nine of them including Golam Parwar from a flat at Block-D of Dhaka’s Basundhara residential area. Police filed the case with the capital’s Bhatara Police Station of the city on the same night.
Bhatara Police Station General Registration wing SI Ranap Kumar informed the media on Sunday (July 17).
