The Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka yesterday accepted the charge sheet submitted against suspended Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Mizanur Rahman and suspended Director of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Khandaker Enamul Basir in a graft case.
Judge KM Imrul Qayes of the court accepted the charge sheet in presence of the accused and transferred the case for further proceedings to the Special Judge Court-4 of Dhaka. Besides, the court fixed April 4 for hearing on charge framing.
ACC Director Sheikh Mohammad Fanafilya on January 19 submitted the charge sheet to the court against the two accused for allegedly leaking information and taking bribe.
The anti-graft body on July 16, last year, filed the case with its Dhaka District Coordination Office-1 under the Money Laundering Prevention Act.
Both the officials were suspended from their respected agencies after the allegations of taking and giving bribes were submitted against them.
Mizan leaked a couple audio clips, saying he has given Tk 5 million as bribe to Khandaker Enamul Basir to suppress the graft allegations brought against him.
