Huge crowd gathered at Kamalapur railway station in the capital on Friday, the day before the sale of advance train tickets for holidaymakers on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr.
The railway officials have said that all the trains will be in action on the occasion of this year’s Eid after two years.
The railways authority will start selling of Eid advance tickets from Saturday (April 23) morning at 8am.
Meanwhile, many passengers moved to Kamalapur Railway Station even on Friday to get.
Tickets for April 27 will be sold on April 23, tickets for April 28 on April 24, tickets for April 29 on April 25, tickets for April 30 on April 26 and tickets for May 1 on April 27.
All the stations where tickets will be sold will have separate counters for women and persons with disabilities.
Fifty percent tickets are being given online and remaining 50 percent of the tickets will be given at the station counters.
According to railways ministry sources, advance Eid tickets will be available from five railway stations. Passengers of the entire western and Khulna-bound intercity special trains to get tickets from Kamalapur, Chattogram and Noakhali bound passengers to get all intercity train’s tickets
from Airport station, Mymensingh, Dewanganj and Jamalpur bound passengers can purchase tickets from Tejgaon station, passengers of Mohanganj bound train and Haor express to get tickets from Dhaka Cantonment Railway Station and Sylhet-Kishoreganj-bound intercity train tickets will be given from Phulbaria Old Railway station .
However, the sale of return tickets will start from May 1.
