Staff Reporter :The BNP on Saturday alleged the government has killed militant suspect Golam Faizullah alias Fahim in ‘crossfire’ to conceal the mystery behind a terrorist attack on Madaripur college teacher Ripon Chakrawarty.”Law enforcers should have unearthed the real faces of those involved in the attack on Ripon Chakrabarty, a teacher of Madaripur Government Nazimuddin University College. Information could have been gleaned from him about those involved in the attack. But he had been killed before knowing these,” said BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi. The BNP leader said it in a press briefing held in the party’s Naya Paltan central office on Saturday.Ruhul Kabir Rizvi also alleged that the incident demonstrates the government link to extremism as well as the series of recent killings.”The government killed him (Fahim) in crossfire in order to hush-up the real incident,” Rizvi said, adding, “We said before it the government has involvement in such killings.” Mentioning Khaleda Zia’s recent statements regarding the government link with militants, he said, the government proved it by killing Fahim.”The BNP leader raised question about the militants’ threat to Ramkrishna Mission and an attendant of a temple in Kushtia. He alleged that after ending of countrywide crackdown the police continue arresting BNP men in different areas. As an example, Rizvi has produced reporters before a list of arrested leaders and activists of the party’s Gaibandha, Bagerhat and Natore district units. Rizvi also alleged that the government has given India transit as a gift to save them from people’s wrath. BNP Joint-Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, central leader Ruhul Quddus Talukdar Dulu, Abdus Salam Azad and Taiful Islam Tipu, among other, were present in the press briefing.
