A man, accused in several cases, was killed in a reported gunfight between two gangs in the hilly area of Shaplar
Police identified the deceased as Shahabuddin, 25, son of Abdur Rahim, resident of Nunchhari village in Kolmarchhora Union. A police team went to the area in the morning after learning about the gunfight and recovered the body, said Probash Chandra Dhar, officer-in-charge of Maheshkhali Police Station. Four firearms were also recovered from the site of the gunfight, he said. Shahabuddin was accused in a number of criminal cases, the OC added.
