A suspected criminal was killed in a so-called shootout with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in the city’s Mohakhali area early Tuesday.Two RAB members were also injured in the incident, sources at the RAB headquarters claimed saying that one foreign made pistol, one magazine, two bullets and two sharp weapons were recovered from the spot. The deceased was identified as Bangkok Sumon.Sub-inspector Mostak Ahmed of Banani police station said an incident of shootout took place near IPH pond, on the western side of Mohakhali ‘Sattala Slum’ between members of Rab-1 and miscreants at around 3:00 am,After a short exchange of fire, the criminals fled the scene leaving Sumon in a pool of blood.Sumon died while being taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, SI Mostak quoted Rab-1 members as saying.The body was sent to DMCH morgue for an autopsy.
