A notorious criminal named Rokib (26) was injuried in a gunfight with police at Chadshata area in Kishoreganj Sadar on Friday midnight.
Constable Md Mahabub (45) was also injured the gunfight that took place around 2 pm.
Additional Police Super (Promoted SP) Md. Nazmul Islam said that on being informed that notorious Rokib and his associates were holding a secret setting at Chadshata, a team of police raided the area, sensing presence of law enforces, the band fire of them.
In self defense, police retaliated, triggering a gun battle. At one stage Rokib got wounded. He was taken to Kishroeganj General Hospital. One pistol, 2 bullets, three local weapon were recovered from the spot.
Rokib is the son of Taher Miah in Harua in Kishoreganj town. He was enlisted criminal of eight cases including Jubo League worker Yousuf Monir’s murder.
