The law and order situation in all the six upazilas of the district marked improvements with the decline of the criminal activities due to competent enforcement administration.
The police forces of the district so far arrested 513 accused in different cases and seven listed criminals. The police also recovered huge illegal arms and narcotics items from different areas of the district during the last four and half months since the joining of the present SP Sheikh Rafiqul Islam.
Members of the district law and order committee and general people including businessmen of the district are appreciating the role of SP in maintaining law and order.
They said people of all walks of life can move at large in the district without any fear of terrorist, extortion, dacoity or any other anarchy.
SP Sheikh Rafiqul told BSS that the present government is firmly committed to root out corruption and terrorism from the country.
To implement the government’s commitment, we laid emphasis on stamping out corruption and terrorism from the district with cooperation from senior police officers and people of the district, he added. He asked the police of the district to discharge their duties professionally to maintain law and order as well as in curbing criminal acts.
