Cricketers resume practice today Saif Hasan tests positive for coronavirus

The national cricketers will resume their group-in practice from today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Promising opener Saif Hasan has tested positive for coronavirus, according to a press release of BCB on Tuesday. So, Saif cannot take part in the training sessions today.
The other cricketers, who have tested negative for coronavirus, will take part in the training programme. The cricketers underwent Covid-19 test on Monday and Tuesday. As most of the cricketers become negative for the coronavirus test, so, they will get permission to take part in the practice sessions. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) took initiative for the Covid-19 test for the cricketers.
The players have been partaking in individual training sessions after a long break imposed by the coronavirus pandemic. The Tigers are scheduled to depart for Sri Lanka in the last week of September but the individual training sessions had to be put on hold after several members of the team’s support staff exhibited coronavirus-like symptoms.
Chief Physician of BCB Dr Debashis Chowdhury said, ” The players who have tested negative for coronavirus, there will be no obstruction for them to take part in the training sessions. On the other hand, the cricketers, who have tested positive for Covid-19, they will be take in quarantine for some days. Then they will undergo for Covid-19 test and if they become negative for coronavirus, they will take part in the training sessions.”
