Bangladesh cricket team pace bowler Rubel Hossain expressed anxiety over reckless driving referring to Sunday’s tragic deaths of two college students in a bus accident on Airport Road.
Rubel, now on a tour to West Indies for a full-fledged national assignment, termed the death of two students — Diya Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Rajib — as ‘Nation’s Lament.’
“Dear driver brothers, nowadays you do not follow traffic rules. The tendency of race among you caused deaths of son and daughter of their parents,” Rubel said.
“Keep it in mind; you have to pay the cost of their tears/lament. This in not only tears of their parents, classmates or relatives, but also lament of every people of the country,” the national cricketer came up with his comment on his verified Facebook page soon after the accident.
Mim and Rajib, two students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin School and College, were killed as a bus ploughed through some students in front of Kurmitola General Hospital on Airport Road on Sunday.
A case was filed on Sunday night over the incident and members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested two drivers and two helpers of three buses from different parts of the capital on Monday.
