Cricket crisis takes a new turn as players place more demands

The top cricketers including Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad took part in a meeting at a city hotel on Wednesday. The cricketers of Bangladesh have been going on strike for their 11-point demand since Monday. But after discussion in the hotel on Wednesday, they added more two-point demand yesterday.
After the concluding the discussion on Wednesday evening, Lawyer of the cricketers Barrister Mostafizur Rahman said to the reporters, ” I sent a letter to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) claiming13-point demand for the cricketers, who have been continuing their strike for their demand.” Shakib Al Hasan replied the questions from the journalists.
The lawyer said to the reporters, ” The new first point is, BCB should give the cricketers a fare share from BCB’s revenue and the second point is, BCB should maintain a balance remuneration for the female cricketers. The cricketers think the female cricketers have been deprived from their standard salary.”
Meanwhile, BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon and Director of BCB Naimur Rahman Durjoy met with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Ganabhaban in the city to discuss about the strike of cricketers.
After coming out from the Ganabhaban, Naimur Rahman Durjoy said to the newsmen that they were prepared to fulfill all the demands of the cricketers, who have been going on strike.
It may be mentioned that the cricketers, who have been going on strike went to BCB’s Office at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday night to resolve their demands after they getting green signal from BCB.
