Detectives on Monday arrested Crest Securities owner Shahid Ullah and his wife Nipa Sultana who went into hiding after winding up their brokerage house.
DB (Ramna Zone) arrested them from Laxmipur-Noakhali border area on the day.
The other arrestees were identified as Md Khorshed and Md Jewel.
DB Deputy Commissioner (Ramna Zone) HM Azimul Haque confirmed the arrest to the media. The Crest Securities Limited, a corporate member and stock brokerage house of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), closed its head office and all other branches on June 23 without any prior notice.
Since then, Shahid and other officials of Crest Securities were in hiding.
Crest Securities was incorporated in 2006 with its registered headquarters at 57, Purana Paltan, in Dhaka. It has three branches located on Pragati Sharani in the capital, and in Narayanganj, and Comilla.
The securities house is a corporate member of the DSE and a full-service depository participant of the Central Depository Bangladesh Ltd (CDBL).
