Crackdown on tinted glasses enters day 4

UNB, Dhaka :The drives to remove all artificial coverings, including nontransparent and tinted glasses, from car windows, launched by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), across the capital entered the fourth day on Wednesday. The Traffic Department of DMP fined 612 vehicles and also towed away 56 vehicles by wreckers on Tuesday, the third day of the drives, said DMP headquarters sources.The sources added that, the north division of the DMP Traffic Department fined 327 vehicles while the west division fined 47 on Tuesday.Earlier on Monday, four divisions of the DMP Traffic Department fined 272 vehicles on the second day of the drive for not following the government order and 107 vehicles were also towed away by wreckers.In the wake of growing incidents of abduction across the country, the Home Ministry on April 30 issued a circular banning the use of black/colorful/non-transparent/mercury glasses in cars.
