The drives to remove all artificial coverings, including nontransparent and tinted glasses, from car windows, launched by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), in the capital entered the third day on Tuesday.
The Traffic Department of DMP fined 272 vehicles on the second day of the crackdown on Monday by its four divisions for not following the government order.
DMP headquarters also confirmed that 107 vehicles were also towed away by wreckers.
Earlier on Sunday, the Traffic Department of DMP fined 973 vehicles and towed away 106 vehicles by wreckers on the first day.
In the wake of growing incidents of abduction across the country, the Home Ministry on April 30 issued a circular banning the use of black/colorful/non-transparent/mercury glasses in cars. The circular also asked for the removal of such glasses by May 10.
