Chattogram Port Development and Research Council (CPDRC) hopes to accelerate their programs for development of Chattogram Port and to reduce the cost of import-export and container cargo handling charges and to further enrich the country’s economy.
Commodore (retd) Jobayer Ahmed, President of the newly formed committee of the organization, said this at a discussion held at KB Abdus Sattar auditorium of Chattogram City Corporation on Saturday last .
He said, the aim and objective of the committee is to give various suggestions to the port administration and the government through various research data related to the port. This committee will assist the government and the port authority and will work voluntarily, not for any political gain .. He also urges the talents for help with various suggestions.
Speakers on the occasion said that in order to improve Chattpgra, , the roads of Chattogram need to be developed. If the water problem is solved, it is possible to develop Chattogram at large.. The canals are not being dredged as yet .. If we want to develop Chattogram port and Chattogram together, we have to eliminate waterlogging. Moreover, Karnafuli is getting filled day by day. If we can save Karnafuli, the port will be saved. .
