Chittagong Branch Council of The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) organised CPD Program on “Accounting for Sustainability-an update” held recently in Chittagong, says a press release.
 Director of Rupali Bank Limited and the Professor of Accounting Department in the University of Chittagong, Dr. Md. Salim Uddin FCA, FCMA was present as session chairman and Professor Ataur Rahman Belal PhD, FCA, FCCA, FCMA presented the key note paper in the occasion.
Dr. Salim told in his speech that organisation’s economic activities has simultaneous effect on the society and planet . These effect of course deserve the reporting to the stakeholder for more transparency and accountability. Sustainability accounting is a most dynamic and powerful tool used by organizations to become more sustainable. The organizations will report about financial, people and planet by incorporating information about economic, social, environment and governance performance . By doing so, professional accountants have been contributing significantly for the development to meet the needs of future generation.
