CPB’s 11th congress begins today

The Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) is set to begin its 11th congress today.
The four-day congress will begin at Suhrawardy Udyan at 2pm through organizing rally.
At the opening day, the leaders and activists of the CPB will bring out a rally in the capital carrying with red flags. The colourful rallies will parade streets and it will end at the Central Shaheed Minar.
The slogan of the congress has been set “End of communalism, imperialism, looting and lack of democracy”. A total of 26 foreign delegates from 10 countries are expected to participate in the congress for expressing their solidarity.
After the Inauguration, the close-door organizational session of the CPB will begin at 9.30 am on October 29 at Quazi Basir auditorium of Mahanagar Natyamanch and it will continue till October 31. The organizational affairs including formation of the central committee for the next four years will be discussed at the session.
Besides, an International seminar will be held at the National Press Club at 3pm on October 29.
The last congress was held on October 13, 2012, when Mujahidul Islam Selim was elected President for the first time and Sayed Abu Zafar Ahmed General Secretary.
