UNB, Dhaka :Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) and Socialist Party of Bangladesh (SPB) on Wednesday jointly announced a countrywide demonstration for Friday to press home their five point demands to ‘save the country’.The demands include ensuring the rights to hold meetings, rallies and processions, and stopping the ongoing violence, bomb and petrol bomb attacks across the country, said a press a statement on Wednesday.The statement, jointly signed by CPB president Mujahidul Islam Selim, its general secretary Syed Abu Zafar and SPB general secretary Khalequzzaman said, “The country and its people are becoming the scapegoats for the prevailing political situation due to the power conflict of evil and derailed quarters.”While BNP-Jamaat are guiding their ‘movement’ towards wild violence, the government has resorted to stern ‘police actions’, rather than solving the problems politically, the statement added.
