Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) has taken precautionary measures to prevent ‘corona virus’ from spreading through the sea Port.
According to the port sources, a special team of the port medical department has been prepared to introduce the Corona virus infected sailor. Chittagong port hospital has taken various steps to improve the basic wellness practices aimed at preventing the transmission of the virus.
In an emergency meeting at the office of the port member (Harbor and Marine) Commodore M Shafiul Bari, it was mandatory for the ship’s captain and agent to make a proper declaration as soon as the ship’s captain and agent arrived at the port.
The master of the vessel arriving at Port Limit should announce immediately that there is no Corona virus infected sailor on that ship. In addition, hundreds of sailors on ships from East Asian countries will be allowed access to the port only if they are declared safe by scanning by the Port Health Officer.
The Navy, Traffic, Security Department and related stakeholders have been instructed to warn about washing hands with soap, don’t touch nose with dirty hands, not touching ears and mouths, avoiding the person infected, etc. to avoid coronary virus. Effective steps have been taken to ensure that the infected person is in their cell or in their home, avoiding close contact with others, using an infection prevention mask and keeping their workplace clean until the person is healthy.
An ambulance ship has been prepared for rapid patient transfer from the ship to the hospital. A medical team will be in charge of the Port Health Officer under the supervision of the Port Health Officer. If a sailor wants to go out, medical screening will only be permitted subject to wellness.
In addition, all are advised to take masks and other preventive measures as part of the precautionary measures.
