Cox’s Bazar District tasted the first win in their 2nd match of the Chittagong Divisional Under-18 Cricket Tournament beating Chandpur District by five wickets at Women’s Complex ground here on Monday.
Earlier in the first match on Sunday, Cox’s Bazar conceded 39-run defeat against Bandarban at the same venue.
In the day’s match, Chandpur District batted first after winning the toss and were all out for 174 runs in 49.4 overs with Alauddin Khan making 41, Fatin Nehal 28 and Morsalin Khan 24 runs.
Sirajul Islam, Kamrul Hassan and Abu Bakkar took two wickets each conceding 15, 22 and 37 runs respectively.
In reply, Cox’s Bazar easily reached their target making 176 runs for 5 in 44.4 overs with one down Shadman Shakib contributing 86, Sirajul Islam not out 38 and Ruhullah 31 runs.
Raju Ahmed, Mehdi Hassan, Morsalin Khan and Shakib Hossain claimed one wicket each.
