Covid patients rising in Barishal

The district administration of Barishal started no musk no service campaign to create awareness as Corona infection increased several times in Barisal division.
The district administration instructed people to follow the hygiene rules to deal with the situation.
Meanwhile, doctors of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital said that no Intensive Care Unit (ICU) bed of Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Hospital was vacant. Although the situation is deteriorating, but the general public has no concern about the infection.
Barisal Divisional Health Director, Dr.Basudeb Kumar Das said that Department of Health is expressing deep concern over the situation and instructing them to abide by the health rules. He said there were now 35-40 people being infected every day, but end of February to first week of March new infection rate was 2 to 3 percent and today it stands at 14.11 percent.
The total number of patients in Barisal division on Wednesday was 11267.
According to the Barisal Divisional Health Director’s Office, 77 people were infected in 6 districts of the division in these seven days from March 13 to 19, but 226 people were infected in seven days from March 20 to 26.
From 13 to 19 March, 48 people were infected in seven days, and in the next seven days, the number was 124. The number of people infected on March 30 is 39, now the rate of infection is increasing every day.
Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital Indoor Doctors Association President Dr. Sudip Haldar said that the number of patients is increasing day by day and as a result the patients are not getting ICU support in the hospital. A week ago, the number of patients was only 14, but on Tuesday, the number stood at 90. The number of patients has increased more than 6 times in 7 days.
Barisal Sadar Hospital technologist Md. Nawab Hossain said that even 10 days ago, only 14/15 people were tested, which is now being done on an average of 70 people every day.
Famous doctor for corona diseases in Barishal City said. Mizanur Rahman said that the number of infected patients has increased several times, many of the affected patients are receiving our treatment from home and many are going to Dhaka for better treatment.
Meanwhile, two magistrates of Barisal district administration are operated mobile court and carrying awareness programs and imposing fines every day to comply with the health rules. Subrata Biswas, who is in charge of public relations of Barisal district administration, confirmed that 37 peoples and 5 organisations have been fined Tk 9,200 in the last two days.
Deputy Commissioner Jasim Uddin Haider said the people have to abide by the hygiene rules at this stage. Mobile courts are being conducted every day for this purpose.
