Eighteen more Covid-related deaths were recorded at Kushtia General Hospital in 24 hours till Saturday morning.
Of the deceased, 15 were confirmed Covid patients while the remaining three showed symptoms of the virus, said Dr MA Momen, administrator of Kushtia General Hospital.
Kushtia recorded 22 deaths on Friday, the highest single-day fatality count this year.
Besides, the district logged as many as 176 fresh Covid cases in the past 24 hours after testing 589 samples during this period, said Dr Momen.
The positivity rate in the district currently stands at 29.88%, which was 27.77% a day before.
Besides, 292 patients with Covid symptoms are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital, the official said.
So far, 10,060 people have been found infected in the district, while 310 people have died of Covid-19.
Dr Tapas Kumar Sarkar, the resident medical officer of the hospital, said the hospital staff are struggling to handle the rising number of Covid patients in the district.
Meanwhile, fourteen more Covid patients have died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in the past 24 hours, health officials said on Saturday.
Moreover, after seeing a drop in Covid-19 cases for five days in a row, the infection rate in the district has risen marginally.
Of the deceased, six were confirmed Covid patients while the remaining eight exhibited symptoms of the virus, said hospital director Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani. Seven of the patients were from Rajshahi district, four from Natore and one each from Pabna,  
Chuadanga and Joypurhat districts.
A total of 171 people have died of Covid-19 at the corona unit of RMCH in the last ten days till Saturday.
The authorities recorded as many as 22 deaths, the highest single-day toll so far, on July 1.
Besides, 60 people have been admitted to the hospitals with Covid symptoms in the past 24 hours. Currently, 522 patients are undergoing treatment at the hospital which has 454 beds.
Earlier, ten more people have died of Covid-19 at three different hospitals in Khulna in the past 24 hours, health officials said on Saturday.
While seven were confirmed Covid-19 patients, three showed symptoms of the virus, the officials said.
Of them, six died at Khulna Corona Dedicated Hospital, three at Gazi Medical College Hospital and one at the Covid unit of Khulna General Hospital.
Khulna Corona Dedicated Hospital nodal officer Dr Suhas Ranjan Haldar said that six people have died at the hospital in the past 24 hours. Of them, three were confirmed Covid-19 patients.
Currently, some 188 people are undergoing treatment at the hospital. Of them, 115 are being treated in the red zone, 33 in the yellow zone, 20 in the ICU and 20 in the HDU.
Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, as many as 31 people have been admitted to the hospital and some 25 discharged post-recovery.
Dr Gazi Mizanur Rahman, owner of the private Gazi Medical College Hospital, said that three people have died at the hospital’s corona unit in the past 24 hours.
During this period, 21 new patients were admitted and 17 discharged.
Khulna General Hospital Corona unit spokesman Kazi Abu Rashed said a man named Mohammad Hasanuzzaman (60) of Naihati area of Rupsha upazila died at the hospital.
Besides, 76 people are currently undergoing treatment. In the past 24 hours, 15 people have been admitted and eight discharged.
