Covid-19 highest daily records in deaths and infections in BD: 1,602 new cases and 21 deaths

Bangladesh on Monday reported more 21 fatalities of Covid-19 patients while 1,602 new cases detected in the last 24 hours.
“With the new fatalities the death toll now stands at 349 and caseload also surged to 23,870 with the new single day record,” said Directorate General of Health Services Additional Director General Professor Dr. Nasima Sultana in her daily online bulletin in Dhaka on COVID-19 situation.
Dr. Sultana said that the recovery count also jumped to 4,585 as 212 new patients were released from hospitals after getting recovery in the same period.
The DGHS official said total 9,788 samples were tested at 41 authorised laboratories across the country.
On Monday, 3,383 suspected patients were in isolation.
She said the recovery rate was 19.21 per cent while the death rate was 1.46 per cent until Sunday.
Bangladesh confirmed the first COVID-19 case on March 8 and the first death on March 18. The country passed 72nd day on Monday.
Since the 10th week, the number of infections along with death records increased significantly in the country.
The DGHS official said that among the 21 new deaths, four died at their residences, two were brought dead and 15 died at hospitals.
As per the records, it was the first incidents that any COVID-19 patients died at home or outside hospital.
Meanwhile, many people died of COVID-19 symptoms without tests. Twelve of the deaths occurred in Dhaka division.
