Confirmed coronavirus cases in Bangladesh have reached 244,020 with the detection of 1918 more cases in the past 24 hours.
Besides, the deadly virus claimed the lives of 50 more people during the period to take the total death toll in the country to 3,234.
Of the new deceased, 44 are men and six are women.
Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), came up with the information in the daily online health bulletin in the afternoon.
She said 1,955 more patients recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the number of people making recovery to 139,860.
Prof Nasima said 7,712samples were tested in 82 labs across the country during the period. With this, a total of 1,201,256samples have so far been tested in the country.
In comparison with the tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the infection rate is 24.87percent while the infection rate 20.31against total tests carried out so far, she said.
The DGHS additional director general also said against the total number of detected cases, the recovery rate is 57.3while the mortality rate is 1.33 percent.
On Sunday, Bangladesh reported 30 deaths from coronavirus and 1,356 cases.
