Covid-19 cases hit 21,700 in Khulna division, 19,055 cured

With detection of 52 more positive cases in all 10 districts of the division on Sunday, the total number of COVID-19 infected patients now hit 21,700 as 19,055 have been cured from the lethal virus infection.
 “The recovery rate now stands at 87.81 percent,” Assistant Director (Health) for Khulna division Dr. Ferdousi Akhter said, adding that the total number of COVID-19 patients rose to 21,700 with 52 new positive cases were reported in the division after testing 84 samples at the Khulna Medical College laboratory and others two respective COVID-19 laboratories in the last 24 hours till Monday noon.
Of the total new positive cases, the highest 13 were detected in Kushtia, followed by 11 in Khulna, nine in Jashore, eight in Jhenidah, four each in Chuadanga and Meherpur and three in Narail districts in the division.
With the new detected cases, the district-wise break-up of the patients now stands at 6,329 are in Khulna, 3,867 in Jashore, 3,256 in Kushtia, 1,914 in Jhenaidah, 1,418 in Chuadanga, 1,328 in Narail, 1,093 in Satkhira, 986 in Bagerhat, 904 in Magura and 605 in Meherpur, she added.
 “Among the total 21,700 coronavirus infected persons, 2,325 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals as 19,055 have recovered and 378 died while the rest are undergoing treatment in isolation at their respective homes in the division”, Dr. Ferdousi continued.
Talking to BSS on Monday, Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Rasheda Sultana said the number of total fatalities stands at 378 in the division while no death cases were reported on Sunday. The district-wise break-up of the total fatalities now stands 378 on Sunday. The break-up now at 96 in Khulna, 71 in Kushtia, 45 in Jashore, 33 in Jhenaidah, 32 in Chuadanga, 30 in Satkhira, 23 in Bagerhat, 20 in Narail,15 in Meherpur and 13 in Magura under the division.
