COVID 19 And Current Situation In BD

Mubin Hasan Khan Ayon :
Like other countries around the globe, Bangladesh has also attacked by deadly coronavirus. Our social and economic condition is not so good to tackle the adverse impact of this virus. The people of our country are not conscious enough. This coronavirus is a threat for the Bangladesh. Many people have already been attacked by this virus but they actually don’t know about its syndrome. They are taking it easily as like as their usual problem. On the contrary our medical science has not yet reached to the rural areas. Many people from foreign countries especially Italy came to Bangladesh recently. There’s a huge chance of spreading coronavirus among the Bangladeshi people. They are also not staying in quarantine and not following the health rules.
According to IEDCR, the number of coronavirus cases remained 39 in Bangladesh and 5 total deaths. IEDCR is the only institute in Bangladesh can test for coronavirus. If we follow the social media then we see a lot of objections about it. The service of IEDCR is not available for us. The website of IEDCR doesn’t provide enough info about the COVID-19. Sometimes the doctors have also becoming panicked by seeing the patients. It’s not their fault actually. Our doctors and nurses are not getting their protection gears properly for the virus attack. Many doctors have already complained through social and electronic media that they haven’t enough PPE for their safety.
On the other side our government has declared a 10-day shut down effective from March 26 to April 4 to battle the spread of the coronavirus. The main reason of giving this holiday was to stay hopefully all people at their home. But the reality went the opposite of the decision. People started leaving Dhaka as fast as possible instead of staying at home. We’ve seen the effect in the bus and launch terminals. There were a lot of gatherings. But the one and only safety rule is stay alone if anyone wants to remain safe from the corona virus attack. Only for that type of activities of Bangladeshi people this harmful virus can easily be spread from one body to another. It will be the greatest threat to us.
Our government has unofficially locked down many cities and districts. For checking up the situation government also deployed Bangladesh Police and Army personnel. They are taking actions where the rules are not following. In this situation many people are forced to stay at home. No one can go outside unnecessarily. Roads and shops are under surveillance of the authorities concerned. Many executive magistrates are fining the rule-breaker immigrants. But there are also some reports against the police, because of their misbehaviour and torturing the ordinary people. A doctor was also beaten by them.
To overcome the situation of Bangladesh our parliamentarians should take steps in their constituencies. If they provide food, other essentials and proper treatment then the people will get relief. Executive magistrates can only control the area from public gatherings. But a parliamentarian can fulfill the demand of the people in his constituency. I hope — by the combination of the executives, medical practitioners and parliamentarians our society will be safe from this coronavirus. Otherwise we all will make complain against each other and there will be no solution for it. We all want safety. We need proper treatment for the infected people at this moment.
