A warning letter has been issued at the Benapole check post in Jashore due to the increase of coronavirus infection in the country, sign by Chief Secretary to Prime Minister Ahmed Kaikaus.
The letter also said that the passengers who will return to the country from abroad will have to quarantine in the hotel for 14 days at their own cost.
Domestic and foreign tourists visit India every day through this country’s largest international check post. In addition, the lion’s share of people goes to India for medical treatment, meeting relatives, doing business and traveling. Many are suffering from depression after hearing about staying in a hotel for 14 days at their own expense. Especially the patients who go to India for treatment are in trouble.
“I am very ill,” said Masud Chowdhury, a cancer patient on his way to India from Jashore at the Benapole check post. I have to sit in a wheelchair. After that, if you have to stay in a hotel for 14 days after returning home following treatment, you will have to face a big problem.
Benapole Immigration OC Ahsan Habib said at 1 pm on Tuesday that the government had taken the decision due to rise of coronavirus cases. These issues must be complied with by all.
