Bangladesh on Saturday reported 1289 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the caseload to 418,764.
Meanwhile, 13 more patients died from Covid-19, taking the fatalities to 6,049.
So far, 336,568 patients (80.25 percent) have recovered — 1541 in the last 24 hours. The fatality rate in Bangladesh is 1.44 percent, the Directorate General of Health Services said.
Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8. The number of cases reached the 300,000-mark on August 26. The first death was reported on March 18 and the death toll exceeded 6000 on November 4.
So far, 2,429,842 tests have been carried out, including 11419 new tests, and 17.23 percent of them have turned out positive.
Bangladesh is seeing 2458.88 infections, 1976.25 recoveries and 35.52 deaths per million.
So far, 3,161 people have died in Dhaka division, 1,194 in Chattogram, 373 in Rajshahi, 474 in Khulna, 201 in Barishal, 252 in Sylhet, 268 in Rangpur and 126 in Mymensingh.
