Customs Excise and VAT Office confiscated 5500 kg of cut tobacco (manufactured) with a covered van from Manikganj bus stand area.
In the evening, the VAT office along with the tobacco covered van of Heritage Tobacco took them into custody from Manikganj Sadar Police Station for transporting tobacco products without tax invoices. These tobacco came from Global Leaf Tobacco Kushtia.
Assistant Commissioner of Manikganj Customs Excise and VAT Office Nasir Uddin Mahmud Khan said that 5500 kg of tobacco products were taken to the Heritage tobacco of Bhairab, Kishoreganj in a covered van of Shyamoli Jihad cargo service from Kushtia with tax evasion without tax invoices.
Police seized the cover van from the Manikganj bus stand area on the basis of confidential information provided by intelligence agencies.
