Customs Intelligence on Monday seized a covered van loaded with 263 rolls of polyester fabrics worth Tk one crore, imported under bond facility, from Islampur area in the capital city.
Tipped off, a team of Customs Intelligence led a drive early Monday at Islampur area, which is a wholesale centre of cloth
and textile trading, seized those rolls of textiles imported in the name of Mastex Industries Ltd, said a press release.
Raw materials imported under bond facility is only applicable for export after production but those fabrics were taken to Islampur for trading which is prohibited under customs law.
