Bangladesh Institute of Legal Development (BiLD) unwrapped the cover of its first law journal in its own office yesterday with the co-operation of Azad & Company, the largest corporate law chamber in Bangladesh. With the presentation of Zabed Rasin and Zarin Kabir, the programme was chaired by Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Chairman of BiLD and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. The function was privileged with the presence of Prof Dr. Sarkar Ali Akkas, as the chief guest of the ceremony. He is the dean of Law Faculty and Chairman of Law Department, Jagannath University.
Other distinguished guests presented in the ceremony were, Asraful Islam, Acting Chairman and Assistant Prof of Law and Justice Department of Southeast University, A.B.M. Imdadul Haque Khan, Assistant Professor of law department of Eastern University, Md. Rajib Hasnat Shakil, Assistant Professor of Northern University of Business and Technology, Khulna, Nasmin Zabin Noor, Acting Chairman and lecturer of law department of North South University, Ayesha Saleh and Riad Mahmood, lecturer of Daffodil International University.
While addressing Abul Kalam Azad, said that the utmost concern of Bangladesh Institute of Legal Development is to promote the legal education of the country.
He firmly believes that the Institute would play an inevitable role to develop the legal education. According to him, the students, teachers, researchers, lawyers and other people connected with the legal profession are mostly dependent on the foreign books, journals, etc.
At the end of the ceremony, distinguished guests unveiled the ‘BiLD Law Journal’ in the presence of all the members relating to Azad & Company and Bangladesh Institute of Legal Development.
