Sports Reporter :Former pace bowler of West Indies Courtney Walsh arrived in the city on Saturday night.Courtney Walsh has been appointed Bowling Coach of Bangladesh National Cricket team. His contract is effective from September 1 and will continue up to 2019 World Cup Cricket. His formal agreement with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is scheduled to be held on Sunday and he would be introduced with Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Tamim Iqbal and their associates on the same day.Before taking the charge of Bangladesh National Cricket team, He was one of the selector of West Indies Cricket Board. He was the manager of West Indies Under-19 Cricket team. Besides, He was the bowling consultant of Jamaica Tallawahs, which team emerged as the champions of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) recently.This is his first assignment as a Bowling Coach of a Test team.Courtney Walsh grabbed 519 wickets playing 132 Test matches. He bagged 227 wickets playing 205 One Day International (ODI) matches. He captured 1807 wickets playing 429 First Class matches.The 53-year-old Walsh retired from international cricket in 2001.
