A court here on Sunday took cognisance of the charges brought against nine people, including nayeb-e-ameer of Hefajat-e-Islam Mufti Izharul Islam and his son Harun Izharul, in a case filed in connection with a bomb blast at a madrasa in October last year.
On February 10, police submitted the charge-sheet to the court.
Passing the order, Chittagong Metropolitan Sessions Judge SM Mojibur Rahman fixed March 27 for hearing on the charge framing.
The seven other charge-sheeted accused are Abdul Hye alias Salman, Habibur Rahman, Mohammad Ishaq, Monir Hossain, Abdul Mannan, Tafsir Ahmed and Mohammad Junayed.
Of the accused, Salman is on the run while Mufti Izhar on bail.
Three people, including two students, were killed and several others injured in an explosion in a room of a four-storey hostel of Jamiatul Ulum Islami Madrasa at Lalkhan Bazar on October 7, 2013.
Police recovered huge explosive-making materials, four unexploded grenades from the surrounding areas of the madrasa. The explosion is believed to have taken place while making bombs.
Three cases, including one under Explosives Substance Act and another under Acid Act, were filed with Khulshi Police Station.
