Court orders to seize Samrat’s immovable property

A Dhaka court on Tuesday has ordered the seizure of immovable property of Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat, the ousted president of Dhaka Metropolitan South Juba League, in the casino incident.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge KM Imrul Kayes passed the order.
At the time, ACC Deputy Director Md. Jahangir Alam, who is also the investigating officer in the case, sought an order to crook Samrat’s two flats located in DOHS and Kakrail in the capital.After the hearing, the judge ordered the two flats to be crooked during the investigation.
ACC inspector Aminul Islam confirmed the matter.
Earlier on November 12, the ACC Integrated District Office, Dhaka-1 ACC Deputy Director Md. Jahangir Alam has filed the case as a plaintiff.
The case was brought against Samrat on the charge of acquiring illegal assets worth Tk 2,94,80,087.
On November 17, the court granted a 7-day remand to Samrat in the case.
Samrat was arrested on October 7 last year from Chauddagram in Cumilla In the anti-casino drive. He was then interrogated in arms and drug cases. The ACC then brought charges against him for acquiring assets outside of known income.
