Court orders to arrest Latif in 12 hrs

Court Correspondent :A Dhaka court yesterday (Monday) evening directed police to arrest the Former Posts, Telecommunications and ICT Minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui following an appeal filed by Advocate Abed Raza.Magistrate Atiqur Rahman of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka gave the direction asking Ramna Police Station of the capital to arrest Latif Siddiqui within12 hours.The arrest order was issued in view of the former minister’s recent derogatory comments against holy Hajj, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina`s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy and Tabligh Jamaat in New York. Former Minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui returned home on Sunday night. He was expelled from the Cabinet and his ruling Awami League for the same reason.At a programme organized by Awami League Tangail unit of the USA on September 28, Latif Siddiqui, who was in New York with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that he was against Hajj and Tablig Jamaat and the Jamaat-e-Islami.
