The Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka yesterday issued a production warrant and ordered the prison authorities to produce detained former Jubo League leader Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat in the court on October 25 in a graft case.
Judge KM Imrul Qayesh of the court passed the order as the jail authorities could not produce the accused on Wednesday, making the court to defer the date for hearing on whether to accept chargesheet or not.
Meanwhile, Judge Tehsin Iftekhar of the Seventh Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court fixed November 22 for hearing on charge framing in a narcotics case against Samrat and his accomplice and former Dhaka South unit Jubo League Vice-President Enamul Haque Arman.
