A court of Barguna district yesterday (Thursday) ordered to confiscate the assets of eight fugitives of the sensational Rifat Sharif murder case.
Barguna’s Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Sirajul Islam Gazi passed the order on Thursday.
The eight accused persons are Mohaiminul Islam Sifat, Md Musa, Rakibul Hasan Rifat Hawlader (juvenile), Abu Abdullah Rayhan, Md Naim, Rakibul Hasan Niamat, Sayeed Maruf Billah and Prince Mollah.
The court also rejected the bail petitions of Rakibul Hasan Rifat Farazi and Rezwan Ali Khan alias Tiktok Hridoy.
Meanwhile, the court sent the bail petitions of three juvenile accused to juvenile court of the district.
Lawyer Mujibul Haque Kislu said that the seven accused were produced in the court yesterday.
Slain Rifat’s wife Minni and Arian Hossain Srabon, who are now on bail, were also present in the courtroom.
Rifat Sharif, 22, was hacked to death by criminals in front of his wife Minni in broad daylight in the district town on June 26..
