UNB, Dhaka :
A court here on Monday issued warrants for the arrest of six accused in the Jubo League leader Riazul Haque Khan Milky murder case.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Asaduzzaman Nur issued the arrest warrants after accepting a supplementary charge-sheet against 18 people in the case. The court also fixed March 25 for the next hearing.
The six accused who face the arrest warrants are Shakhawat Hossain Chanchal, Arif Hossain, Ibrahim Khalil Ullah, Rafiqul Islam Chowdhury, Sharif Uddin Chowdhury alias Pappu and Fahima Islam Lopa.
Earlier on September 23 last year, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police submitted the supplementary charge-sheet before a court against 18 accused, implicating seven more people freshly with the previous one. On April 15, 2014, assistant director of Rapid Action Battalion-1 Kazemur Rashid submitted a charge-sheet against 11 people in the murder case.
However, the court on June 17, 2015, ordered the CID to re-investigate the Jubo League leader Riazul Haque Khan Milky murder case following a naraji petition. In the petition, Milky’s brother Rashedul sought CID investigation into the incident as the names of the principal accused were dropped from its charge-sheet.
Milky, organising secretary of Dhaka city (South) unit of Jubo League, was gunned down by his close associate Zahid Siddique Tarek, who was also the joint secretary of the unit, in front of Shoppers World at Gulshan in the city in the wee hours of July 30, 2013.
