Two workers of a factory in Uttara EPZ who were also couple were killed in road accident on Nilphamari-Saidpur Highway while coming to attend the workplace riding on own motorbike in morning today.
The deceased are identified as Swapan Roy (28) and his wife Sumi Rani Roy ((25) hailing from Borodoha village of Botlagari union in Saidpur upazila under Nilphamari. Both of them work in China based toy factory Sonic (Bangladesh) Ltd for several years.
Police and eye witnesses informed that at around 7 a.m today, the victims were coming to the factory by riding on motorbike through Nilphamari-Saidpur highway as deceased Swapan’s younger brother Ratan Roy (24) was driving it.
When they reached at Kazirhat Bazaar point of the highway only 250 meter away from the EPZ, a loaded truck coming from opposite direction hit them directly.
