Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) in a drive arrested two fake currency traders with huge counterfeit notes about Tk 2.5 lakh from Bashundhara residential area under Halishahor thana in the city on Monday night..
The arrested were identified as Mohammad Jashim Uddin,33, and his wife Taslima Akther,26, both hailed from west Ghomdondi village under Boalkhali upazila of the district.
Detective Branch of CMP detained them from the 5th floor of Bashundhara Tower under Bashundhara residential area and seized 260 fake notes of Tk 1000 denominations while they were waiting for exchanging the fake notes at their residence at 11 pm on Monday night.
