Within four days of the much talked about killing of Maulana Nurul Islam Farooqi and Moghbazar triple murder, bodies of husband and wife were recovered from their residence in the city. The bodies of the couple were found in the residence- House No 60/2 of Road No-5 at Defense Officers’ Housing Society (DOHS) at Banani on Monday night.Assistant Commissioner of Cantonment Zone Mashruf Hossain confirmed the matter to the media. The couple found dead at their Banani residence around 9:00pm. On information, they visited the residence and recovered the bodies, he added. The deceased were identified as Abdur Rouf. 53, managing director of Afsar Group, and his wife Rukhsana Parveen, 51, police said. “It is yet to be clear how the couple was shot or what is the reason behind the incident. We are investigating,” said Mashruf Hossain. Locals said that they informed the police, as they heard the sound of shot in the evening. The body of Rukhsana was found at the bed while her husband’s body was found in sofa in the residence. A fire arm also found in the residence. Police recovered the arm. The Crime Sign unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) also visited the spot to collect the evidence. Later, the bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy.
