Police recovered the bodies of a man and his wife from underneath hyacinth in a canal in Kalkini upazila of Madaripur on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Moazzem Sardar,42, and his wife Mokseda Begum,34, of Rajarchar village.
Police said the couple were missing for last five days. Locals spotted the bodies in the canal this morning and informed police. Later, police recovered the bodies with their hands and legs tied.
Relatives claimed Moazzem was a witness of
a murder case. Miscreants abducted the couple and demanded Tk 2 lakh ransome, they added.
The miscreants killed them failing to gt ransom.
