Countrywide cultural festival on July 20, 21

A 2-day cultural festival will be held across the country on July 20-21, to draw the attention of young generation to their own culture as well as to enlighten cultural activities with their participation.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor disclosed it in a press briefing at the Press Information Department (PID), Secretariat on Wednesday. Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, Information Secretary Abdul Malek, Cultural Affairs Ministry Secretary Md Nasir Uddin Ahmed and Chief Information Officer Kamrun Nahar were present on the occassion.
Asaduzzaman Noor said the Cultural Affairs Ministry will arrange the festival in each district with the support of district administration, district Shilpakala Academy and district information office.
“A committee regarding the cultural festival will be formed in each district across the country under the leadership of deputy commissioner. The ministry has already given necessary directives to all the DCs in this regard,” Noor said.
“The Cultural Ministry is making continuous efforts to cultivate country’s own culture in the hearts of the people of all strata, including young generation” Noor added.
Local artistes, poets and writers will take part in the event, the minister said, adding that local artistes will perform Rabindra and Nazrul sangeet, modern, patriotic and folk songs, recite poetry and stage single acting during the festival.
A documentary video on the government’s public welfare activities and development works will be screened also.
