Countrymen urged to vote for AL

Star cricketer Shakib Al Hasan urged the countrymen, specially the youths, to vote for Awami League (AL) in the forthcoming national election to be held on December 30 for continuation of the present pace of development.
“Of course we will vote for the boat on December 30… Everybody must vote in favour of development,” said Shakib, captain of the country’s T20 and Test cricket team.
“The countrymen will vote in favor of development in the national polls on December 30,” he said this on Monday while addressing the opening ceremony of ‘Hashtag I am Bangladesh’ or ‘(#IamBangladesh) at the Krishibid Institute Auditorium in the city.
Referring to the day of Bangladesh vs West Indies one day match, Shakib said audience of the gallery chanted eight to ten times ‘Nouka Nouka (boat boat)’, I am sure that people of the country will do such work that will help continue the present development process,” he added.
The ‘Hastag’ has been launched for encouraging youths to vote in favour of development in the upcoming polls.
Among others, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President M Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin), Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President M Siddiqur Rahman, Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka (MCCI) President Nihad Kabir, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) President Abul Kasem Khan, BGMEA Former President M Atiqul Islam and Film Actor Ferdous were present at the function.
FBCCI President Shafiul Islam said “December 30 is a very important day for Bangladesh. On that day, to take Bangladesh forward, a lot of work should be done from your position.”
“We want such leader who is fond of listening to peoples well and woes,” he added.
He said “You must vote for development and truth.”
