Staff Reporter :The entire country has come under a tight security blanket to avert any unpleasant incident over the execution process of condemned war criminals — Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed and Bangladesh Nationalist Party standing committee member Salauddin Quader Chowdhury. The law enforcing agencies, including members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), have been put on high alert across the country to turn aside avert any untoward incident.”The law enforcers have already been asked to remain on high alert so that no one could commit any subversive act centering the execution process of the two convicts,” an official of the Home Ministry said.He said, massive security measures have also been taken at all key point installations (KPI) and important business establishments. “The law enforcing agencies will foil any subversive attempt with an iron hand,” the official said.Meanwhile, 20 platoons of BGB have been deployed in different strategic points in capital Dhaka, 12 platoons in port city Chittagong, six platoons in Chapainawabganj, five platoons in Cox’s Bazar, three platoons in Feni and two platoons in Noakhali as part of the beefed-up measures, BGB sources said. Besides, the BGB was also deployed in other districts, added the sources. In capital Dhaka, Mofiz Uddin Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner of Lalbagh division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said security has already beefed up in the city.”A three-tier security measures have been placed in and around the Dhaka Central Jail,” he told journalists.”Now we’ve brought the Dhaka Central Jail under security blanket with extra cautionary measures,” the police official said.Apart from these, restriction has already been imposed on vehicle movement in front of the Dhaka Central Jail.Besides, police and RAB were seen searching people at different check-posts at all entry and exit points in and around the capital as part of the foolproof security measures.
