Country to be turned into ‘Golden Bangla’: Tajul

LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Mohammad Tajul Islam on Saturday said had Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman remained alive, Bangladesh would have become a developed country by 10 years.
“We want to build Bangladesh a ‘golden Bangla’ as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” he told a view-exchange meeting with Laksam Upazila public representatives as the chief guest.
The minister said Bangabandhu in his entire life struggled to establish rights of the people. “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given me the responsibility of an important ministry. I shall try to discharge my duty with utmost honesty and devotion,” he added.
The present government, the LGRD minister, said has been working to transform all villages into towns in line with the announcement of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“We will reach city facilities to villages. Our goal is to build a developed Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” Tajul Islam said.
During the meeting, Additional Police Super of Cumilla South district M Abdullah Al Mamun, Laksam Upazila Chairman Advocate Yunus Bhuiyan, Laksam Upazila Nirbahi Officer AKM Saiful Alam, its officials and leaders of Awami League and associate bodies were present.
