Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury Tuesday told the Jatiya Sangsad that Bangladesh’s inward foreign direct investment (FDI) was Tk 3387.975 crore in December 2013, up by Tk 2157.736 crore from the same period of 2012.
Replying to a scripted question from treasury bench member M Abdul Latif, Matia Chowdhury who is in charge of the parliamentary affairs of the Prime Minister Office, said the inward FDI in December 2012 was Tk 1230.239 crore.
She said the government has taken a series of realistic steps to boost local and foreign investments in the country’s industrial sector.
The government is providing various incentives to attract local and foreign investments for setting up industries under the National Industrial Policy.
